Study room wooden table with six chairs surrounding, windows show snow covered green trees

Hannon Library has opened up a limited number of study rooms for use by SOU students, faculty, and staff. To use a study room, visit the first floor of Hannon Library and check out a key from the Tech Help Desk. Students, faculty, and staff can check out a key to a study room for four hours at a time. The patron can renew the borrowed key in person or via our Tech Help Chat. Renewals are limited to library hours.

Study room keys are available to be checked out on a first-come, first-served basis, and Hannon Library is not currently accepting study room reservations in advance. During the pandemic, study room use is available to individuals only, and patrons must wear a face covering while in the room. At a later date when safety allows, group use of study rooms will be available. Each study room is limited to one individual per day for the duration of the pandemic. This means that a limited number of study rooms are available each day to allow for a cooling-off period after each use.

Hannon Library asks that whenever a patron exits the study room, they bring the study room key with them and ensure the door is locked. Study rooms will be cleaned by library staff in between uses, and cleaning supplies will be available to students, faculty, and staff for sanitizing high touch surfaces before and after use.
