Every year, the Friends of Hannon Library honor the work of William Stafford, former Oregon Poet Laureate, with a night of poetic readings. This year’s event begins with an original music composition by Todd Barton, played by Alexander Tutunov, followed by readings from local poets: Alma Rosa Alvarez, Jim Bronson, Angela Decker, Leo Decker, Morgan Hunt, Jay Schroeder, and Michael Spring. Attendees are also welcome to participate by reading their favorite Stafford poem.

After 28 years of working as the Reference Services Coordinator, professor, and liaison to the Business program, Connie Anderson-Cohoon retires this week. She leaves behind her a history of dedicated service to the library and the students of Southern Oregon University.

“What I love most are the students and learning something new every single day. I will miss the ebb and flow of the academic year and my amazing colleagues” said Connie.

Every day here at Hannon, Connie has shown students and colleagues how much she cares with her tireless efforts, reliable commitment, and, best of all, her bright smiles. She has been a dear friend to many, and we’ll miss her.

So we wish you a happy retirement, Connie, and remember that your smile will always be welcome here at the library.
